Tony Newell has professionally written since May 2004 and has contributed to several freelance works and ghostwritings. In college, he desired a creative writing major. However, he chose a business path. Yet, the passion to write burns within him, daily.
Philosophy
“A man thinks in ways that define and revolutionize himself. A genius thinks in ways that define and revolutionize mankind. God thinks in ways that...
Well, I don't know how God thinks. However, it exceedingly surpasses genius intellect and comprehension. The universe surely is not a genius-level conception.” – Tony Newell
"The difference between a dream and a vision is the absence or presence of a plan of action. Yet, it's not enough to just plan one's actions, but one should take action. Otherwise, through procrastination, one's vision becomes … a daydream -- active vision, stagnant action." – Tony Newell
“A fool thinks he needs no advice, but a wise man listens to others.” – Proverbs 12:15
Tony takes the Word of God as his, personal, approach to life. Who knows more than the Creator? Can the creation ever outwit its creator? The creation is only limited to that which the creator allows. However, the Creator is boundless. He is knowledge. Moreover, His knowledge is boundless. Thus, He is the source for an unlimited supply of knowledge.
Aside from biblical references, Tony Newell acknowledges that there are really great thinkers in this world. He has studied many of them as well. One of his aunts reminded him once, “Tony, there's a lot of great material out there. You just have to learn from them the good and leave the bad.”
Education and Experience
High School
Tony attended Crystal Springs High School, in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, United States. He understood the importance of a male's physical well-being – becoming the male's varsity soccer captain his junior and senior years. His love of the game increased his desire to be better than his competition. He would practice before, during and after official practices. Tony's skill level and recognition improved each year:
- Tenth grade – Most Improved Player Award
- Eleventh grade – All-District Player and Leadership Awards
- Twelfth grade – Team's Most Valuable Player and Leadership Awards
Also, Tony had a passion for music and writing. He created compositions ranging from poetry and lyrics to musical arrangements. He was a member of the school's marching, concert and jazz bands (trumpet/cornet). His determination and drive was rewarded with acceptance and participation in the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Concert Honor Band. Also, Tony participated in the University of Southern Mississippi Marching Honor Band. Aside from the honor band recognitions, he received multiple awards and recognitions for music as well:
- Eleventh grade – Leadership Award
- Twelfth grade – John Philip Sousa Award, Semper Fidelis Award (Presented by the U.S. Marine Corps for Outstanding Musicianship) and a Leadership Award
Along with all his academic studies and other exttracurriculars, Tony Newell was a member of four clubs – two of which he held positions:
- 4-H Club – Vice President
- T.A.T.U. Club – Vice President
- Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)
- Spanish Club
College
Tony Newell attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College and majored in Accounting Technology with a minor in Music Performance. He became a member of the marching and concert bands. Tony also participated in different community service events. In 2005, Tony transferred to Mississippi Valley State University. However, he changed his major to Music Business, and joined the Mean Green Marching Machine – Mississippi Valley State University's marching band. He joined an trumpet organization within the band – Scream Machine (S Phi M).
After College
Tony has studied and applied internet marketing strategies and concepts since 2007. He has become a constant student, in all areas of life. In 2010, he completed a Microsoft Office certification course and became a Microsoft Certified Application Specialist. Understanding the importance of social presence and interaction within business, Tony Newell has become a social media expert and consultant. A social media presence is a business essential nowadays. Without one, one's business could fail – as so many businesses that chose not to obtain a website also failed. Just as a website became a business essential, social media is today's “website.”
“Learning only ceases when you give your mind permission to block information and understanding. Just as you can obtain permission directly and indirectly, so can your mind. If you give your mind permission to be lazy, and think less, you indirectly give it permission to cease learning.” – Tony Newell
"Think 'legacy.' Act 'legendary'." -- Tony Newell
He has been most inspired by the teachings of (Jesus Christ, first and foremost) Tony Robbins, Dale Carnegie, Napoleon Hill, Robert Kiyosaki and John C. Maxwell. His literature and study collection consists of their works – as well as other marketing courses and trainings. Over the last 10 years, he has studied those works, deduced, developed and theorized his own comprehension of life's mechanisms, through the direction of God.
Other Projects and Writings
Poetry
Tony plans to release a collection of his poetic writings in December 2011. Inspiration comes to him from a number of areas and viewpoints. Tony's poetry makes use of metaphors and similes for everyday occurrences – life, in general.
Here are three samples of his work:
Songs
Tony constantly creates lyrical compositions. However, songs will not be named until after his musical hiatus is completed.
Books
Tony is working on two other projects. The I.C.E. Agenda will be released in January 2012. This work discusses, around the topic of cold temperatures and their effects, certain aspects of life that can be challenging to overcome. A certain chapter, called “Cryogenic Faith,” discusses how sometimes, one encounters things that freeze your faith – having it become stagnant. One's faith is still alive, yes; yet, at that point, it is inactive. One, then, has to “defrost.”
Tony is writing a relationship guide as well. However, it will not be released until late 2012.
